Chairman and Owner
of Jabulani Mall:
Mike Nkuna |
The location of Jabulani in Soweto has a densely populated residential node with 68 000 households in a 3km radius/primary trade area and a further 170 000 households in the secondary trade area.
The retail potential of the site is by far the largest in Soweto, is estimated at R615 million which relates to a development of
30 000m² - 35 000m². It seems that the final GLA will rather turn close to 45 000m². The result from tremendous interest from retailers keen to take advantage of the location and site.
The centre will be a focal point for Soweto with good quality tenants suiting the market, restaurant and adequate parking and, as a special attraction for local inhabitants and the growing number of tourists in the area, the creation of a cultural facility. |
There are more than 104 stores at Jabulani Mall, which is anchored by Shoprite, Game, Truworths, Edgars and Woolworths. Our fashioned component comprises over 18 000m², including 10 chain stores made up of the Foschini Group as well as other well-known brands, eg. PEP, Ackermans, Jet, Legit, Identity and Mr Price Group.
